Some places in Wedding are not exactly pretty. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not good. For example Plötzensee. It can get overly crowded on a sunny day and the water isn’t particularly clean, but it’s one of the closest lakes to the center of the city and great for a quick dip. After cooling down there I highly recommend visiting Arirang on your way home. This Korean imbiss is exactly how Asian joints used to look like; not fancy, not trendy, not sparkling clean. This North Korean eatery serves all the classics for a great price and was one of the few Korean spots that’s been around since the days before YamYam and Princess Kimchi, when it was hard to find good Korean food in Berlin. It looks like they’ve profited from the boom as well; they got so busy that they now use the space next door (where the family used to sleep) as a “Nebenzimmer” to serve more guests. The friendly waitress who served the place by herself, keeping a big smile on her face the entire time, was faster then most restaurants in Berlin with many wait staff. You can be adventurous and try something new on the menu or just go for the staples: bibimbap and bulgogi. A must have is the double fried sweet and sour chicken with ice cold Korean beer!
